New Tool Released
In response to recent ARR updates, Watercom has released a free tool to apply the latest climate change scenarios to rainfall data: the Climate Change Rainfall Modifier.
In response to the recent updates to the Australian Rainfall & Runoff (ARR v4.2) guidelines, we have developed a climate change tool to streamline the application of best management practices (BMP).
The free Watercom Climate Change Rainfall Modifier allows users to easily apply various climate change scenarios to rainfall depths and losses, both in DRAINS as well as other modelling software.
After importing existing ARR Datahub and BOM IFD files for areas of interest, users can select a climate change scenario (known as a shared socioeconomic pathway or SSP) and time horizon for consideration.
Based on the selection, the Climate Change Rainfall Modifier then modifies the relevant depth and loss fields. The results are available for download immediately.
Users can import the modified versions of these files into DRAINS to quickly and easily create a “climate change scenario” of their model. The tool is now available to use here.
