2 February 2022

We are pleased to announce that from Wednesday, 2 March 2022, Watercom Pty Limited will be transferring the ongoing development, sales and support of the DRAINS, PIPES and PIPES++ software to Kustom Engineering Pty Ltd, led by Dr. Benjamin Kus. Kustom Engineering will be trading under the Watercom brand.

For you as a customer, nothing will be changing – you will continue to receive the software you rely on, from the Watercom you know and trust.

Who is Dr. Benjamin Kus?

Dr. Benjamin Kus has overseen the operational and strategic direction for Watercom and its software suite for the last three years in his role as Manager of Watercom, as well as Director of Kustom Engineering. He has led both companies seamlessly toward this transition, all the while maintaining Watercom’s position as Australia’s leading modelling and analysis software for stormwater and drainage systems.

In this same period, Kustom Engineering have firmly cemented themselves as an essential provider of workshop and training solutions in this highly specialised sector.

Facing Challenges Together

The last two years have been challenging for many, but this close partnership between Watercom and Kustom Engineering has allowed us to help our customers thrive.

    • We were able to provide free work-from-home cloud licensing throughout the 2020 lockdowns to support our trusted and loyal customers during a difficult transition into new ways of working.
    • We were able to continue our industry-recognised face-to-face DRAINS workshops by transitioning to online webinars, introducing a free 2-hour Introduction to DRAINS E-Learning webinar, and a full, online 15-hour DRAINS and ARR-2019 E-Learning webinar, with more than 600 engineers enrolled in 18 months.

A Legacy

For the last 30 years at the helm of Watercom Pty Limited, Bob Stack has been responsible for the development and support of DRAINS, PIPES and PIPES++, and due to his guidance this full-featured and user-focused software is now used in over 1200 organisations across Australia and around the world. After 50 years in the water supply, sewerage and stormwater industry, Bob will be stepping back from this role on March 2nd, 2022, as he hands over this responsibility to Ben and the capable team to continue delivering the quality service Watercom is known for.

What This Means For You

You can expect the same industry-leading Watercom products, support and service to continue going forward. In fact, the day-to-day operations of the business, emails, contact details and branding will not be changing.

What is changing is our enthusiastic and motivated team is expanding and looking towards an exciting journey ahead filled with new collaborations, new software features in development and new, more flexible ways to access your software.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more details in the coming months as we continue this exciting journey with you.
